Hi, I'm Carolyn!

I have had a passion for photography since I was a child, and when I took my first formal class in high school, I knew this is what I wanted to do!  At the time I had absolutely no idea what that would look like exactly. I have come a long way over the years from a young student photographer to a family photographer.  I love what I do, and feel blessed that I get to do it!

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Central Michigan University. While in Michigan, I had the pleasure of working with architectural and commercial photographers in the Detroit area, but by far my favorite experience was working with the photographer to the Detroit Pistons, and assisting on their portrait and promotional shoots.  It wasn’t until I a few years later and until I had a family of my own that my interests shifted and I realized I had a specific passion to become a family photographer!

In January 2011 I launched my own portrait photography company, Photography in Seattle. As much as my husband and I loved Seattle, just a short year and a half later, we were ready to move.  As of November 2012, we are blessed to now call Bend, Oregon home. We love this town and community, and love raising our 3 children here.  I couldn’t be more excited about where we live, and the amazing community of people I get to meet and serve as a family photographer.
